Winter Break
Wow it just seems like yesterday we started hitting and working out. Due to personal circumstance we will not have any hitting, conditioning or pitcher/catcher workouts during the week of December 15-19. Rest up over break and enjoy the holidays as we will begin working out again Monday January 5. We will be hitting every Monday and Wednesday in the batting cage. On Tuesday and Thursday we will have strength and conditioning along with pitcher/catcher workouts in the BFMS West Hall Gym. Remember to keep training over the break.

Website update
As of December 1st, we have our own domain name ladyeaglessoftball.com, this website is still under construction and will hopefully be ready by the season. It will have tons of information on our softball program from rosters, stats, schedules, calendars, handouts, and much more. So, just be patient and you will soon be able to know everything there is to know about Lady Eagles Softball
Pitcher Catcher Workouts
Due to gym space, we will not be having pitcher/catcher workouts in December on Tuesday and Thursdays. However, pitchers and catchers can throw on Monday and Wednesday after hitting from 6:00 to 7:30. Pitchers and catchers may also be able to throw on Fridays depending on baseball and their use of the facility. If Friday catcher/pitcher workouts are possible it will be annoounced on Wednesdays.

WOW what a turnout!!
WE had 37 softball players working to make themselves better hitters today. Sorry we were a little behind but i wanted to make sure we got through the basics. Since we had such a great turnout I have decided to divide the group into 2 groups. All 7th and 8th graders will hit from 3:30 till 5:00, All 9-12 graders will hit from 4:15 til 6:00. By splitting the groups, it will allow for more individual instruction from the coaching staff. Also just a reminder that Tuesday/Thursday are pitcher catcher workouts. THANKS for the hard work ladies.

Off- Season hitting and pitching
Hope you all are excited as I am about getting things started!! As we get ready to do some off season workouts, i just wanted parents and players to know, these open gyms are not mandatory but optional. We are hoping these workouts will help develop hitters, pitchers and catchers and make us an overall better team. Players should bring cleats and tennis shoes and any other necessary equipment to practice.
Even though we are scheduled to be in the hitting facility on Monday and Wednesdays, if the weather is nice we will be going outside to do some drills also. On Tuesday and Thursdays we will be having catcher/pitcher practice at the middle school either inside or outside depending on the weather.
At hitting we will be working on the 5 step approach to hitting and how to bunt and slap. During this time we will also be videotaping and working individual with players as time allows.

Lets get Ready to play some ball.
Dear Players, Parents and Supporters of Lady eagles Softball,
Hopefull you have heard the news, LADY EAGLES SOFTBALL has a new coach and I am very excited to have the opportunity.I have been in the program for 17 years as either a head coach of junior varsity or as a varsity assistant under Todd hunley and Robin Walls. I am very excited to serve as the head coach of an already successful program here at FCHS. I would first like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity and the high school administration and school board for selecting me. Secondly thanks to my wife Amy, my 5 kids (Caleb, Delaney, Easton, Grayson, and Houston and my parents who will now spend even more time babysitting for me to pursue a life long dream of being a head coach. As far as coaches go, I am still working to get my staff together. I hope to keep some of the coaches that are already familiar with the program. My sister, Betsy Hill will definitely be my assistant just not sure how and where the other coaches that are already in the program will fit in. I see this not as a coaching position but an extension of my teaching, in which my classroom no longer has walls, computers and activboards but fences, dirt, bats and balls. I plan to coach as I teach: helping every student/player achieve their best and making every student /player fell as important as any other student or player in the classroom/team. My goal is not only to win, but also to motivate, teach and guide these young ladies to become everything that they want to be. As for off season workouts, I plan to hold a meeting with all interested young ladies at both the high school on October 20 from 8 til 8:30 in the central gym classroom and the middle school as soon as possible and take advantage of the great weather we are having. We will begin off season conditioning November 3. More details will be given to players at the meeting on Monday Ocotber 20 and the booster club meeting on October 29. I also plan to get more community involvement by hosting some off season clinics for various age groups and their parents so we can start speaking the same language at all levels to make our already successful program even better. Even though our season seems a long time away I just want to invite all Franklin County out to the ball park. Come watch and support Lady Eagles softball as I promise these young ladies will be talented and fun to watch.
